Supermarkets regulated entry to reduce the numbers of customers inside and allow social distancing. Initially there was much panic buying of essentials like bread and toilet paper and the queues outside were enormous. Here at Waitrose at times the queue stretched around the edge of the carpark and down Edgworth Road.
