Number 68 Church Street was the shop on the corner with Mill Lane. Probably taken in 1935 (Silver Jubilee George V) or 1937 (Coronation George VI). The 1937 Directory lists Mrs I Goody as the shopkeeper .

This and the long row of cottages further along the road were demolished during post war slum clearance and the site is now part of the carpark of St Gregory’s Primary School. See also image pa97 – the entrance to Mill Lane just visible in the distance.
