This photo shows these two local dignitaries now out on the river, Mr Wheeler ( mayor during the War)hardly dressed for the occasion and Mr Scofield, suitably clad but complete with cigarette. Schofield was the Cornard Road chiropractor and officer i/c the local Home Guard during WWII.
