A Chambers bus draws into the Town Bus Station at some time before the wholesale demolition of the industrial and commercial buildings between Hamilton and Francis Roads in 2001. The rare conical tower of a maltings roasting kiln is visible on the left. Probably dating back to the mid 19th century it was a significant relic of the town’s industrial past and should have been retained to feature in redevelopment of the site. (NB In 2014, the whole area is still a wasteland.)
