The fire on the night of Sunday 6th September 2015 totally destroyed the late Victorian frontage of 41-42 Market Hill – the former Mattingly building and more recently Oxfam.
There was a maze of old timber-framed buildings behind the brick facade – this painting of a huntsman on horse back blowing his horn was revealed on a surviving wall – late 16th/early 17th century in date.
