Charles Prince of Wales became King immediately on his mother’s death on September 8 2022. The formal Proclamation was the read in various public places in the days that followed. In Sudbury this took place on the Town Hall steps at 3.30pm on Sunday 11 September, Here the Mayor Ellen Murphy leads those assembled in three cheers for the new king after reading out the proclamation document.
