A group of farm workers who we believe were employed by the Mays family who owned St Bartholemew’s Priory and other farms to the Northeast of the town. Clearly taken at harvest time when rabbits were shot as they tried to flee from the dwindling stand of corn. One of the men is probably a Mr King- the photo comes from his widow- but we would appreciate any more information about this picture. Possibly taken just before or just after WWII.
