John Wardman, a former chairman of the Sudbury Round Table, leads a mock funeral for the ‘death’ of the Sudbury to Cambridge line on Saturday March 4th 1967. The coffin was actually filed with food and drink and whilst crowds along the route for the return journey to Cambridge gathered to say farewell to their local train service the mourners on board "enjoyed a carnival of fun, fireworks and frothy beer."
