Sudbury was awarded the title of Town of the Year at the Suffolk Community Awards in September 2023. It  was praised for a number of initiatives benefiting the community including maintaining an attractive and vibrant town centre. The event was organised by Community Action Suffolk, Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Association of Local Councils.
