An early view of Isaac Clover's Mill in Walnuttree Lane c1885. The chimney (well obscured by trees) indicates that there was already a steam engine installed in the mill, to increase milling capacity and also perhaps to guard against production being hit during a long dry spell. The brick four storey roller mill (the entry point into the modern hotel) was not added for another 15 years.
